Route to Leutasch-Foehrenwald

The Leutasch valley is situated on a high plateau between the villages of Mittenwald and Seefeld. Coming from the direction Germany there are two possibilities to get to Leutasch.

Variation G1:
From Mittenwald, crossing the gorge Leutaschklamm:
At the end of this gorge you will cross the border to Austria (continue with the
description no. 1 at the next chapter).

Variation G2:
From Mittenwald, stay on the federal road 2, crossing the Austrian border on this road at the village of Scharnitz . Follow this road (on the Austrian side it will be called 177). Immediately after the next village, Giesenbach, turn right on a sloping road to Leutasch. At the end of the slope there will be a road to the left to Seefeld and another one to the
right to Leutasch/Weidach. Now you will enter the township Weidach the same way as if coming directly from Seefeld to Leutasch (continue with the description no. 2 at the next chapter).

From the Austrian motorway A12 (Innsbruck - Bregenz), there are also two possibilities to get to Leutasch:

Variation A1:
From the exit "Zirl Ost" you follow the sloping federal road 177 towards Garmisch/Seefeld. At the beginning of Seefeld turn to the left and follow the traffic signs towards Leutasch. After passing through Seefeld you will continue through the small township of Neuleutasch, until you arrive upon a winding road to the Leutasch  township of Weidach (continue with the description no. 2 at the next chapter).

Variation A2:
From the exit "Telfs Ost" (coming from the direction Bregenz/Arlberg/Imst) you follow the traffic signs to Leutasch. Immediately after the exit, continue through a traffic circle. Now you pass the Liebherr factory and come to another traffic circle.  There you turn to the right towards Leutasch. About halfway down this steep and winding road turn left (in the direction of Leutasch.) On the top you can see the entrance road of the Interalpen Hotel. From here the rest of the road goes downward toward Leutasch (continue with the description no. 3 at the next chapter).

Leutasch consists of a large number of townships resembling a string of pearls along the valley. The centre is represented
by the township Weidach.

1. From direction Mittenwald/Leutaschklamm:
From the Germany/Austria border you cross several townships (see map). After you have crossed the townships Ahrn and Gasse, turn left in the direction of Seefeld/Weidach. Continue past the next intersection to the right (towards Kirchplatzl a.o.). 80 meters beyond that lies a small intersection (on the right corner you can see a store called Schlecker). Here you turn to the left.
After 100 meters you will find the Haus Caecilia on the right hand side.

2. From direction Seefeld / Zirl / Innsbruck:
After you have passed the winding road from the direction of Seefeld downward to Leutasch-Weidach, you can see on the left hand side an OMV petrol station. About 100 meters after this station there is a small intersection. On the left corner you can see a store called Schlecker. Here you turn to the
right. After 100 meters you will find the Haus Caecilia on the right hand side.

3. From direction Telfs / Imst:
Here you will pass first the township Ostbach and later the township Kirchplatzl. There is a city hall, church and tourist office in Kirchplatz. Follow the main road to the dead-end and turn right. Turn left at the next intersection - approximately 80 meters away (on the right-hand corner you can see a store called Schlecker). After 100 meters you will find the Haus Caecilia on the right hand side.
